Wild Strawberry Films is proud to announce the signing of David Tolemy to play the lead role of Felix Cienega in our futuristic theatrical feature film, "Drones, Clones and Pheromones".
In Dave we have answered,
Who will be Homoperfectus?, the first member of the species that shall descend from Homosapiens.

This role will keep him very busy for some time, because the franchise consists of a trilogy of theatrical features, a broadcast prequel ahead of the film release, and a spin-off TV series. This is an ambitious project, not only epic in scope, but epic in addressing fundamental questions of what it means to be human and the nature of life itself.
Dave is a multi-talented actor, a true natural with a solid work ethic, perfectly suited to the role by virtue of his brilliant intellect, the finest actors' training available, and a big-hearted passion for people and animals. He has instinctive insight into the spine and dynamics of a character, while grasping the deep structure and arc of a plot line. The camera loves this man. So will movies audiences as he charms them with his unique blend of boyish good looks and steamy sexiness. In person, his friendly manner has integrity, and he is an engaging conversationalist.
Dave is a remarkable young man. We are fortunate beyond measure to have him play the lead in our film, which will surely be remembered as the beginning of a stellar career in the movies and on stage.

Dave was born on a lovely Autumn day, September 21, 1982 in Milwaukee WI, then raised in the northwest suburbs of Chicago by his parents David and Rebecca. He has a younger sister Jessica born December of 1986. His father is a banker and politician in Wood Dale, IL, and his mother was formerly also a banker and is now a homemaker.
Dave was a multi-sport athlete, an academic standout, and participant in school activities and student government at Fenton High School in Bensenville, Il. He ran track/cross country, and played baseball.
In his junior and senior years, he was a state finalist in Speech Competition, and won the leading roles in school plays. He was NHS vice president his Senior year, and served on a youth action committee that spanned several cities. He wrote for the Daily Herald Newspaper for one year, and was an award winner multiple times in school and Conference writing competitions.
During his two years at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellen, IL Dave starred in several stage productions while earning an impressive 4.0 GPA. He then moved on to New York City where he studied his acting craft at the Stella Adler Studio for 3 years, and graduated with honors for his actor's studies at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.

Dave was then lured to Hollywood where he might find opportunities as a professional actor. He has been very popular with the Los Angeles film school students, especially UCLA, a good omen for his future because these are the finest film schools in the country, with graduates moving on to real film careers. Dave starred for 6 months in Eavesdropper, the longest running play in Los Angeles which gave him the opportunity to explore several roles in depth.

Over time, the producer's of the play initiated changes, totally unacceptable to Dave, that totally corrupted the quality of the show and were an affront to any sense of normal dignity.
The upside to the Eavesdropper saga is that Steven Vilendrer was appearing with Dave in the show, and when I attended a Saturday night performance, I was taken with Dave's talent and charisma. On top of that, he looked the part of Felix, the leading role in "Drones, Clones and Pheromones". A late night cold reading with me, him and Steve, persuaded me to offer him a full fledged audition two months later.

As director, I knew the importance of this decision, since Felix is the pivotal character in the entire project, and since I had already signed Steven to play Felix's companion Will, this was absolutely the most crucial decision of the project. I barely slept that night, but by morning had decided to issue him a contract. Now, I am pleased to say Dave is very much a part of the project, and has begun partnering with me in the final writing and polishing of the shooting script. He and Steve are terrific together, sharing the same work ethic, and sharing a natural chemistry in their performance styles. With this amazing pair of talented young actors, the success of the entire project is assured.
